Was that harsh?
Who the heck am I to tell you to “get off your wallet”?
I’m nobody.
I know that.
But I am someone who is able to be thankful for what I have and I try to make differences where I can.
Small or large.
The Philippines Haiyan Typhoon was overwhelming for many of us. When I talked about it with my girlfriends, we talked how it felt impossible to help from so far away. We talked about making that call and giving to different organizations and about how to actually donate to Unicef Charity.
Some of us had never done it before, some of us preferred to donate locally and some of us had already donated.
Think of all the excess your kids get on Christmas and their Birthday.
In fact, look at this picture of my son. Don’t get me wrong, he had a great 3rd birthday! He still talks about it but, by the end of the day, it was “too much birthday”.
But, I have to tell you this, my daughter was invited to a 6th birthday party on Sunday. The Birthday Girl asked that each child bring $6 to the party and half that money will be donated to those living with the devastating results of the Philippines Haiyan Typhoon.
That is pretty awesome.
As well as a great learning opportunity for my daughter.
Plus, its Christmas. And 5 million children were impacted by that disaster.
Again, who the heck am I to tell you what to do?
But please, if you can donate to Unicef Charity.
DISCLAIMER: I am part of a network that is participating in spreading the news of this charity. In part of being with this network, there is compensation. But, as always, these opinions are my own and I write and talk about what I want to talk about. No one is the boss of me. I may tell you what to do. But, no one tells me what to do. Passive aggressive smiley face 🙂
