How did a year pass already?
It feels like just yesterday I was sharing with you the Most Popular Posts of 2015.
I loved 2015. It was a really great year for me on a business and personal level. I feel good about 2016 as well, but I didn’t have as many “HOLY CRAP IS THIS REALLY HAPPENING?!?!” moments like last year.
#10. Would You Have Said Something?
I was actually surprised to see this one on the list. A woman made a stupid remark to me about women, and I said something.
#9. One Pot Pad Thai
This recipe continues to knock my socks off. It also doesn’t surprise me that it was on the list. The internet is an amazing place. Every once and a while I will get a ton of traffic from Pinterest and it is always of lazy Mom’s looking for this One Pot Pad Thai recipe. I don’t blame them. It came straight from Jesus. I am sure of it.
#8. Weight Watchers 0 Point Style Soup
Sheesh. When did I become a food blog? No, but really, I love making and writing about Weird Recipes. I swear I am going to do much more of it this year.
This is just getting old and gross. I wrote this blog post in 2011 about having to change in front of other parents at a kid’s birthday party. It bugs me that it is still one of the most visited blog posts on Mommy’s Weird. But, there is also an upside, here it is, people that see this post have searched it in google, then they come to the blog, notice there are no images of anyone naked and then leave. I like that they leave. But, still. Thanks for the views, you perverts.
#6. Essential Oils Stress Me Out
Personally, this is by far my most favourite blog post of 2016. It was witty and fun. I am very proud of it.
#5. First Time Parents Are Annoying
I have to thank Search Engine Optimization for this post being in the top 10. In fact, I also think I should thank first time parents just for being so bloody annoying. I mean really. YOU ARE SOOOOOOO ANNOYING. If you google “why are first time parents so annoying” you will see that Mommy’s Weird post comes up as #3 on google. That is awesome for a blogger like me. I also wonder if first time parents have become more and more annoying since I wrote this post in 2012..?
#4. T-Fal ActiFry
I got my T-Fal ActiFry in the summer of 2015. So, I am a bit surprised that this post has done so well, except I’m not. Does that make sense? My first clue that people were looking at it was when I was looking at my Google Analytics in November. There seemed to be a surge of people googling the product. To me, the dates sure matched with people doing Christmas shopping. The next thing I noticed, I had a message on FB and then one to my Mommy’s Weird T-Fal asking me all about the product. Seriously, what are the chances of that?
Need I say more? This post and Tyra Banks touching my breasts will forever be the highlight of my blogging career.
2. What Happened To Our Neighbourhoods?
This post is also a special one to me. I published it on December 28th, 2015. It ended up being re published by Yummy Mummy Club on their Facebook page and it sent quite a bit of traffic to the blog. Since then I tried to make it a personal mission to get them to share more of my stuff on their Facebook page.
But, I do have something to report. My neighbourhood has changed. Drastically. A family with very out going twin girls moved in down the street. Our neighbourhood hasn’t been the same since. And I freakn’ love it.
#1. Jillian Michaels Hot Body Healthy Mommy
Are you freakin’ kidding me? I did not expect this to be my most visited post of 2016. But, I think I know why. It is kind of a funny story. I got an odd text message from my Sister in Law wanting to know if it was okay if she passed my phone number on to a friend of hers. Um…wha..? Turns out this friend wasn’t just any friend. She was the creator of Jillian Michaels Work Out Junkies HUGE Facebook Group and the ginormous Instagram account. She ended up sharing some of my Jillian Michaels posts and Fab Life posts on their group and I got some serious traffic for a few days.
I also would like to take this moment to thank all of you for being here. You have no idea how much your comments, your likes, and your shares mean to me. Your support has been over the top. Here’s to 2017!
