You know what every woman needs? A girls weekend getaway.
I met a woman once who told me she was “not the kind of girl who leaves her family to go on girls weekends”. Instantly, I knew that she was bat shit crazy. Or that her family was bat shit crazy. I also felt for her family. I mean, how can you be a good Mom if you don’t take some time for you? No matter what you tell me, I will never understand this. Never. I get circumstance. But, to state you aren’t that kind of girl.
Yeah. No. We aren’t going to be friends.
Want to know who are my friends?
Wait those are bighorn rocky mountain sheep that were at our resort.
Whoopsie.
There they are.
Recently I had a girls weekend with 14 of my friends from Calgary Alberta in Radium, British Columbia. It was a weekend to re charge. Soak in the hot springs. Eat at great Invermere restaurants.
We have done this sort of trip before, but what was nice about this one was it was so close to home. We didn’t have to waste an entire day of travel to see each other. Radium and Invermere are about a 2 hour drive for me and around 3 hours for the Calgary Ladies.
We stayed at Bighorn Meadows Resort which was perfect for us.
This is why…
We each had our own bed.
We each had our own bathroom.
We had a kitchen.
And the rooms were big enough to fit in 15 of us at a time to drink Arrowhead cider and crochet. Yes, you read that correctly. I said crochet.
Yup. This trip was very different then the hectic GO, GO, GO, of my last vacation at Bighorn Meadows Resort. This one was chill and all about me. I woke up when I wanted. Went for a cross country ski on the grounds when I wanted. I soaked at the Radium Hot Springs for over an hour. I ate food that was spicy. I took a yoga class. Me, me, me, me, me.
It was absolutely everything I needed.
I am still warm and fuzzy about it and it was 2 weeks ago.
So, let’s talk.
When are you going to book some time away just for you?
No really.
When?
Thanks so much to Bighorn Meadows Resort and staff for treating us so well on this trip and last June on our family trip. Also to Columbia Valley Tourism for helping us out along the way. Plus, Copper Point Resort that hosted some of our group for a 3rd night.
