Last year, I quit my job after a decade as a radio dj and started my own business, Social Jelly.  Now, the only experience I have really had at running my own business was when I sold iced tea in front of my parents house when I was 8. I had no idea how to keep my records organized and how to do invoicing.  And there has been a lot of invoicing. That would be what you call a… humble brag.

I was getting so mad at my husband (for no reason) and myself. Here I was downloading my invoices onto a memory stick and then downloading them onto my PC just to print. It was making me crazy.

I went to book club and was whining about my new business and how unorganized I was and all the extra steps involved when I was “JUST TRYING TO PRINT A DAMN INVOICE!”

Then I heard one of the girls snicker.

Excuse me?

Buy a wireless printer, she said.

Whoa.

I had no idea they even existed.  You mean you can print from anywhere in your house?

Um yeah, she said, and from your phone, or tablet or whatever.

It took Zed less than 30 minutes too hook up our new HP ENVY 5530 e-All-in-One Printer and then we giggled like school girls.

I was printing invoices from my laptop.

He was printing photos from his iPhone.

He was scanning me stupid things about the Toronto Maple Leafs.

We were giddy.

HOW DID WE LIVE WITHOUT A WIRELESS PRINTER?

This really is the best thing since indoor plumbing.
