I love slow mornings. And I absolutely love that Valentines Day is on a Saturday this year.
Mainly, so I can be a tad lazy and take my time making a special breakfast for my family before everyone has to rush out the door for school or work.
60 % of Canadians will be shopping for a gift this Valentine’s Day. Furthermore, they will be looking to spoil their special someone, spending $177 on average. According to this year’s survey, the most popular gifts for Valentine’s Day are candy (51 per cent) followed by greeting cards (34 per cent), apparel/footwear (27 per cent), gift cards (16 per cent) toys (14 per cent), and flowers (13 per cent).
So here is my plan…
On Saturday Morning, we are all going to make Strawberry heart shaped pancakes with whip cream and possibly cookies and chocolate for dessert. Yes, you heard me right, we are going to have dessert after our breakfast….
FYI: Russell Stover Chocolate hearts were only $1, the sliced strawberries were$4,97 and the pancake mix was just $2!
….then later that evening, once the kids are in bed, I am going to make my husband his favourite snack, which thankfully is mine too, and then we are going to snuggle on the couch and watch a cute romantic comedy.
FYI: The Bolthouse carrots were on for $2, the mixed nuts just $3, Ferrero Rocher 16 collection (MY FAVE) was $7!
So that’s MY plan for Valentines Day. What’s yours? If you are still looking for some ideas I suggest you check out Walmart. Honestly, I was impressed with the selection and price. You can also see what other people are buying this year by following #FromtheHeart on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Oh and I also suggest going to Walmart by yourself at night. Is there anything better than shopping alone!? That’s a gift in itself. Happy Valentines Day to me!
